Wave

Wave follows a woman haunted by longing and unresolved love, as she sets out on a journey to search for her absent mother. Meanwhile, a pair of abandoned jeans—infatuated with her scent and memory—transforms into a man and begins to follow her. Blending queerness, mysticism, and surreal desire, Wave explores the fragile boundaries between reality, imagination, and loss.

A pair of jeans falls in love with its owner's scent and the contours of her body. One day, the woman accidentally leaves the jeans by the sea. Consumed by longing and grief, the jeans undergo a metamorphosis, becoming human in order to search for her.

As the narrative unfolds, we follow Wei-Wei, a woman struggling with emotional distance in her current relationship. Unable to fully commit to her girlfriend, she embarks on a journey to trace the remnants of a mother she never knew. Along the way, a mysterious man—always clad in the same jeans—appears in her orbit. She cannot determine if he is real or imagined. Drawn to him by an ineffable bond, she recognizes in him a shared emptiness, a mutual longing for something lost. Wave is a surreal, queer tale of love, dislocation, and the haunting search for connection.
